I have taken a leap of writing faith and have signed on to contribute a chapter to a multi-authored book. For a person who has never really seen herself as a writer, this has been a giant step to challenge an old story about who I am (or am not) and who I want to be.
Joining this book has been a very exciting journey so far and I wanted to share with you the 5 reasons why I joined and why you might consider this for yourself in the future.

Share your story and knowledge with a larger audience
The title of this book is Entrepreneur Secrets. It is focusing on various coaches, consultants or experts’ journeys to self-employment and what specific tips or ‘secrets’ helped them along the way. So far, we have contributing authors from over 4 countries. This means my chapter, my story, will be shared with not just my audience but all of theirs.
Multi-authored books can have so many different topics that it creates the ability for audiences across the globe to be exposed to and learn from each other. What a beautiful way to create connection and to further demonstrate, regardless of distance, some things are more similar than we think and that there is always something new to learn.

Great way to get published without getting overwhelmed
If you have been following me for a bit, you know that I have written a book. All by myself. It has been, at times, a long and lonely process. This experience created a community of authors connected by a single topic and goal. I enjoyed the opportunity to meet other authors and hear their writing challenges. It made me feel more seen and less on an island.

Meet other amazing people who are doing amazing things
I have alluded to this in the prior answers, but it is true. I have met other coaches with expertise in very different business areas. I have met an orthopedist. To name a few. Each has such an interesting story to share and their focus is on helping others. I love that this experience creates such vulnerability and inclusion for people to identify with someone who may be similar to them. Maybe find the courage to do something they have always wanted to do.

Learn more about the publishing process
The publishing process is long and can be daunting, especially for a newbie like myself. I really appreciated the chance to be a part of a team and learn from others who have publishing experience. Having this ability to learn how to launch a book has been incredibly rewarding for me. Despite my extroverted nature, marketing does not come easily to me. I have to consistently push myself out of my comfort zone and this makes this process all a little less scary.
