We are now in a new year and I always feel a tremendous sense of optimism. Everything feels a bit new and shiny. It is the same feeling I get when opening a new notebook or planner. Or when I am taking a road trip with an open itinerary. So much open road just waiting for life to happen.
This is a perfect time to pause and set an intention for where you want your energy to be directed.
I use intentions as a grounding to reset when life becomes, well, too real. When I get off kilter and start to feel overwhelmed and burnout, my intention helps me refocus on what matters most.
Before starting with 2021, I took a moment to reflect on how well I lived my 2021 intention of Being Intentional. I am proud of where I was able to stay focus and used my lessons to help me in my planning. Given the unpredictability of the last 2 years and and where I know I still need some growth focus…
My 2022 intention is to
{insert drumroll}
Show Up
Let’s looks at what this means for me and you.
For myself…
I want to be fully present for what I commit to. To really show up physically, mentally and emotionally.
I want to consistently take care of my body and mind. That only happens when I show up and do the work.
I am talking about regular exercise and a balanced diet (notice I didn’t say perfect). Each choice and little actions matter. I like to think of it has a calmative effect. The better choices I make, the more likely I am to make more better choices. The reverse is true, for me.
I also want to show up for myself through regular meditation. Again, even small 5 minute check ins and breathing exercises have tremendous benefit. These simple acts have been known to turn a stressful day around.
Lastly, I want to make time to just have fun and play. To enjoy the hobbies that I have neglected for years. We all get so wrapped up in To Do lists that sometimes we forget that there is tremendous power in doing nothing.
For my support system…
When life tends to get crazy, and it always does, I tend to turtle. I crawl into my shell and hunker down. Try to get things done quickly but, unfortunately, that means that I tend to get tunnel vision. I lose track of time passing and don’t show up for those who show up for me in the way that I want.
Again, this is about small actions every day. Staying mindful of myself and connected to those around me.
For you…
Big changes took place in my professional life in 2021. I became certified as a professional coach and left my corporate career to fully embrace the entrepreneurial life at the of last year.
I have to pinch myself sometimes as I have the privilege of working as a full-time leadership & mindset coach.
This has been an exciting transition, not without its ups and downs. It means so much to me that you are here and are a part of it. So going into 2022, I want to make sure that I am showing up and supporting you in a meaningful and consistent way.
That means more super awesome and thoughtful newsletters and blog posts. It means new programs and ideas to help me fulfill my purpose of helping others create mindful and happy whole lives. Today. Not tomorrow. To support you in making those incremental changes to be the person you dream to be.
